A method of designing dual‐band bandpass filter using the hexagon CRLH resonators and cascaded defected ground structure

2015
A method using hexagon composite right/left-handed (CRLH) resonators to design dual-band bandpass filters is proposed in this article. The designed filter utilizes two different resonance modes of the hexagon CRLH resonators to create the two passbands. Defected ground structure (DGS) is utilized to increase out-band rejection. It is demonstrated by the simulation and measurement results that these two different structures can work in harmony to achieve excellent performance. The proposed filter can be used in the microwave circuits that work at multiple frequency bands. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 57:1876–1879, 2015
