Do not push the tip of the bronchoscope into contact with the bronchial wall; it is imperative to control this step so that the tip of the bronchoscope advances in the center of the bronchial lumen. To move the tip of the flexible bronchoscope in the intended direction, the bronchoscopist monitors the up-/down-angle lever with one hand (left hand if right-handed) and rotates around the long axis of the bronchoscope as required while moving the bronchoscope back and forth with the remaining hand (right hand if right-handed).
