The Gödöllő Palace as a Typical Example of Vernacular Architecture in Hungary

The Godollői Kiralyi Kastely - Royal Palace of Godollő was built as an imperial and royal palace located in the city of Godollő, in central Hungary. It used to be a famous building and a favourite place of Queen Elisabeth of Hungary. This chapter provides a full analysis of a historical palace in Godollő: the building design, adaptation requirements (climatic, social, economic), structure, walls, windows, transparent surfaces, room division and function of rooms, as well the issue of comfort which includes the need for cooling, heating, ventilation, light and aesthetic appeal. It is always referred to vernacular and there are many features which attract architects to learn from not only to duplicate but to adopt to their modern design. It can be used as lessons learned from the past.
