Synthesis and biodistribution study of a new 211At‐calix[4]arene complex

The preparation and characterization of a new tetramercaptocalix[4]arene and its 211At complex is described. The in vivo stability of the complex has been evaluated in nude mice for the purpose of α-radioimmunotherapy of cancer. The study shows that while this complex lacks adequate stability in vivo, 211At may behave as a heavy metal ion and may be successfully sequestered for biomedical applications.
