Procedure to obtain N-monosubstituted amides

A process for obtaining an amide of the general formula: R- (CO) -NH-CH2-X comprising contacting a nitrile of the general formula: R-CN with an alkyl acid phosphate comprising at least one alkoxy functionality of the generic formula XCH2-O- and one or more acid phosphate functionalities of the generic formula: wherein: R is alkyl or cycloalkyl and X is hydrogen or a radical having the general formula -CHR1R2, where R1 and R2, individual or collectively, they represent hydrogen or an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, alkynyl, aryl or heterocyclic substituent, or any combination thereof.
