Structural, linear and nonlinear optical properties of multicomponent bulk and thin film tellurite glass

The conventional melt quench technique was used to synthesize the bulk glass of composition 60TeO2.12Bi2O3.18B2O3.10ZnO, and the thin film was deposited by thermal evaporation technique. X-ray diffraction patternreveals the amorphous nature of the material under study. The direct bandgap of as-deposited thin films and bulk glass has been calculated using Tauc’s Plot and found to be 3.0 eV and 2.81 eV, respectively. Nonlinear optical parameters of bulk and thin-film glasses have been estimated using semi-empirical relations.
