Computer Modeling of the Defect Detecting in Pumping Units Using Continuous Strain Gauge Data Analysis

2021
The paper is devoted to a new method for defect detecting in pumping units. Traditional methods of equipment diagnostics have a significant degree of subjectivity. Modern requirements for methods of technical condition monitoring and defect locating are high accuracies, reliability, the ability to be automated, and the ability to be used for various types of machines. In this study, it is proposed to use a method for detecting defects in industrial equipment using continuous strain gauge data analysis. According to this method, amplitudes and phases of dynamic reaction on supports are measured continuously by strain gauge sensors. Then using derived formulas, it is possible to calculate the exact position of a defect. In this study, this method is verified by Ansys software for various defects of an oil pumping unit. Such a method can give new opportunities to provide more accurate and reliable technical condition monitoring and defect identification.
