Investigation of improving wear performance of hypereutectic 15%Cr-2%Mo white irons

Male, born in 1942, professor. He obtained his B.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering from Cairo University in 1963, Ph.D in Metallurgy of Cast Iron from Moscow Inst. of Steel and Alloys in 1972. He joined the Central Metallurgical R&D Institute in Cairo as a Research Assistant in 1964 and become the Institute’s President from 1996 2002. Currently, he is an Emir. Professor at the same institute. He published around 100 scientifi c papers in international periodicals and conferences and was the principle investigator of around 50 industrial R&D programs with the local foundry industry. He received several awards such as Cairo University Award (1990) for the best industrial R&D project in Egypt (introducing ductile iron rolls to the Egyptian foundry industry), The State Award for Scientifi c Excellence (1999), and recently the State-Merit-Award for Engineering Science (2009) 50th. He was the Secretary-General for the WFC-Cairo (1983) and now he is the Chairman of the International Symposium on Science and Processing of Cast Iron (SPCI-9) to be held in Luxor, Egypt, November 9 -13 , 2010.
