Temperature Anomaly Mapping: A Risk Reduction Technology

Abstract Today's oil and gas industry is constantly searching for ways to reduce the risks associated with finding and developing hydrocarbons. Temperature Anomaly Mapping (TAM) is a geophysical technology that, when used in conjunction with seismic surveys and/or sound geological engineering, will help identify the composition of fluids contained within a trap. In this paper, the authors will explain the technology, how it can be applied, and case histories where TAM has been applied to identify commercial hydrocarbon reservoirs.
