Pedagang Kaki Lima Membandel di Jawa Timur

2012
The major problem of urban planning in big cities is how to accommodate the interest of street vendors. Nearly all major cities in Indonesia face a dilema in dealing with these vendors. Various attempts to arrange them have always ended up with unresolved conflicts. A negative image has also been associated with these vendors who are apart from being disorderly and dirty, are considered unmanageable since they usually sell goods anywhere they like. Therefore, the arrangement of street vendors has to be done comprehensively. Beside persuasive attempts, there have to be preventive attempts that will not give them an opportunity to sell goods at restricted areas. A socio-psychological analisis is conducted to map out problems related to street vendors in order to find the way to humanely arrange these vendors.
