Distribution of earthquake information to public in MGA of Indonesia

2001
Monitoring the earthquake , Meteorological and Geophysical Agency (MGA) in current time has been installing 28 non telemetry stations around in Indonesia region, 27 seismic telemetry stations that are grouped into five regional networks excluded 23 Broadband temporary seismic networks produced through the collaboration between Japan and Indonesia (JISNET). For non seismic telemetry , the earthquake data and other geophysical information should send to the Regional Seismic Center (RSC) and National Seismic Center (NSC) in Jakarta via Single Side Band, Telex, telephone , facsimile or PC to PC communications. For seismic telemetry system, the earthquake data directly received in Regional Seismic Center and National Seismic Center send by satellite or LC channel from PT TELKOM with speed 9600 bout per second. Each geophysical stations, each RSC, NSC processed the data and give the out put of earthquake epicenter determination such as location, magnitude and depth to the public . If the damage earthquake occur, MGA directly give information both to national and international institutions such as Regional Office of Department of Communications, Disaster Management Board (BAKORNAS PB), Governor in his capacity of chief Province Disaster Management Coordination Board , District Disaster Management Board (SATLAK PB in his capacity as chief of the execution Unit Disaster management) and ASEAN Earthquake International Institution and Tsunami International Institution .
