A Hydroxypropyl chitosan/carbon nanotube modified electrochemical sensor and its application relate to a sensor and its application, more specifically to a hydroxypropyl chitosan/carbon nanotube modified electrochemical sensor and its application. The invention provides the hydroxypropyl chitosan/carbon nanotube modified electrochemical sensor and its application. The hydroxypropyl chitosan/carbon nanotube modified electrochemical sensor comprises glass carbon electrode and is characterized in that the surface of the glass carbon electrode is coated with a responsive membrane which can be used to detect the content of copper ions in wastewater. The manufacturing method of the operating electrode of the electrochemical sensor is simple and easy to operate and requires low cost. The electrochemical sensor has high sensitivity for determining copper ions.
