Synthesis, Structure, and Photoluminescence Property of a New Cd(II) Complex Based on 4-(2′,3′-Dicarboxylphenoxy) Benzoic Acid

2015
A new complex, namely [Cd(HL)(H2O)2]n (H3L = 4-(2′,3′-dicarboxylphenoxy) benzoic acid), has been hydrothermally synthesized by the reaction of H3L ligand and CdI2, and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectroscopy. Single-crystal X-ray analysis shows that complex 1 belongs to the monoclinic system, P2(1)/n space group, a = 6.0658(7) A, b = 8.7787(11) A, c = 29.510(4) A, β = 92.2920(10)o, F (000) = 888, R1 = 0.0197, wR2 = 0.0514. The Cd centers are bridged by L3− ligands to form a 2D network that is further extended into a 3D framework by several sorts of hydrogen bonding interactions. Moreover, the thermal and luminescence properties of 1 have also been investigated.
