Ozone resistance of 1,4-cis-polyisoprene covulcanizates with ethylene-propylene-diene elastomers with different compositions and Mooney viscosities

The effects of the content of ethylene, propylene, and diene units in ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymers (EPDMs) with varying Mooney viscosity on ozone resistance and the amount of chemical crosslinks and physical junctions in covulcanizates of these terpolymers with 1,4-cis-polyisoprene were investigated. It was shown that the ozone resistance of the examined covulcanizates depends not only on the composition of EPDM rubbers but also on their Mooney viscosity.
