Identity verifying apparatus and method

The invention discloses an identity verifying method and apparatus. The method includes receiving an identity verifying request, displaying an identifying code in a first preset area according to the identity verifying request, highlighting the verifying code characters requiring current speech recognition in the identifying code one by one in a second preset area, receiving speech information input by a user according to the highlighted verifying code characters, and uploading the speech information to a server so that the server verifies the identity of the user according to the speech information. Speech verifying is added in an identity verifying process, and the speech information to be verified is collected by a user reading a verifying code on site, thereby preventing the risk of password leakage or being stolen. If needed, the verifying code characters requiring current speech recognition is highlighted one by one in a preset area to facilitate user recognition. Compared with a conventional user account and static password means, the safety and convenience of identity verification is greatly improved.
