A diode based millimeter wave frequency doubler

2012
A 17.5 GHz to 35.0 GHz frequency doubler with high spectral purity and sufficient output power has been developed employing a Schottky diode based planar doubler and a commercially available Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) amplifier in a compact hybrid Microwave Integrated Circuit (MIC). Output power of more than +12 dBm at 35 GHz has been obtained with a corresponding input power of +10 dBm at 17.5 GHz. Spurious and harmonic suppression in excess of 70 dBc has been achieved.
