2007
Uterine tumors are rare in the female dog, and the leiomyomas account for 85% to 90% of the mesenchymal tumors. The treatment is based on ovariohysterectomy with removal of all tumor tissue. Dogs with inguinal hernias usually have flotation and soft masses in the inguinal area, usually not painful, that could be present for more than a year, susceptible to reduction or not. This work has the intention to describe a case of leiomyoma of extra-abdominal location due to the inguinal hernia in the bitch, treated with surgical removal, making possible the cure of the patient.
