Pseudoainhum constricting bands of the extremities.

Congenital pseudoainhum involving the lower parts of both legs and the right great toe with associated partial syndactyly and absence of distal phalanges occurred in a Negro infant boy. Plastic repair of the deformity produced by the constrictive bands was performed with a good cosmetic result. Histological examination of the excised specimen revealed broad finger-like projections of collagenous and coarse elastic bundles penetrating deeply into the subcutaneous fat.
