EXCITATION OF ATOMS BY HEAVY PARTICLES

The transition probabilities and effective cross sections for collisions between atoms and heavy particles are calculated in the quasiclassical approximation for arbitrary values of the transition energy, DELTA E, and perturbation matrix elements. The calculations are performed without employing the successive approximation method. (auth)
