Green synthesized silver nanoparticles and their therapeutic applications

Abstract Advances in nanotechnology contribute to a paradigm shift in all fields of science and technology. Notable is the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) via plants and microbes mediated routes. The synthesis has resulted in diverse morphologies, size and applications. In this review, synthesis, mechanism and therapeutic applications (viz., antimalarial, antimicrobial, and anticancer applications) of green synthesized AgNPs are considered.
