Gps positioning method and device

1992
PURPOSE:To obtain a stable and highly accurate positioning result even when the number of receiving GPS satellites is changed, by using properly a one-point positioning computing method and a Kalman filter positioning computing method according to the number of respective global positioning system(GPS) satellites. CONSTITUTION:GPS satellites 1-4 transmit GPS signal of one's own position and so on, and a receiving circuit part 12 measures the reception times, and demodulates the signals, and finds transmission times, satellite positions and so on. It also finds a false distance (rho) and the rate of change (rho'), and outputs them to a positioning computing part 13 as satellite information S1 together with position information, and outputs synchronous information S2 such as the number of receivable satellites to a position measuring computing switching part 14, respectively. When the number of receivable satellites is four, input and output switches 7-0 and 18-0 are turned on the by means of selected information S3 by using a one-point positioning computing part 15. When the number is 1-n, they are switched to the corresponding input and output switch and it is turned on by means of the information S3 by using Kalman filter computing parts 16-(1-n). According to an existing standard and by means of the information S2, the switching part 14 determines which computing method is used, and outputs the information S3 to the switches 17 and 18.
