Appleid anatomy and clinical significance of sphenoid sinus lateral wall

【Objective】For prviding anatomical matter of treating affection of sphenoid sinus lateral wall by nasal endoscopical surgery.【Method】25 cases(50 sides) adult dead head by formalin soak,that were decalcificatet by hydrochloric acid,bleached by dioxogen.It was anatomic measured that adjoining structure in lateral wall of sinus sphenoidalis.【Results】On well-developed lateral wall of sinus sphenoidalis,it was clearly observed that opticus bony swelling,arteria carotis interna swelling,cavernous sinus,crotaphitic nerval and vidian nerval eminence.These eminence is pari passu with blood vessel and nerve.26(52%) sides are tubular optical bulge,that are in ecto-supra part.Arteria carotis interna eminence was divided sellar anterior,inferior and posterior segment,it were observed that eminence are 18(36%) sides in sellar anterior segment and 6(12%) sides in inferior segment.crotaphitic nerval eminence is in midst inferior part of sphenoidal sinusal lateral wall,24(48%) sides were observed.The vidian nerval eminence is in juncture with lateral and proximal wall,10(20%) sides were observed.【Conclusion】It is favourable feasibility that practice endoscope on lateral wall of well-developed sinus sphenoidalis.
