An FPGA(field programmable gate array) chip was developed with VHDL(very high speed integrated circuit hardware description language) for real time picking up of two acoustic emission parameters(arriving time ring count) in 32 channel acoustic emission testing, which could be used to realize source location and intensity evaluation.
