The invention provides a posttreatment apparatus and method for reducing phosphate flame retardant generated by wastewater. The posttreatment method of the phosphate flame retardant comprises the steps of: a) mixing crude phosphate with alkali, conducting cycling alkali washing, and layering to obtain the phosphate after alkali washing; b) mixing the phosphate after alkali washing with water, conducting cycling water washing, and layering to obtain phosphate after washing; and c) carrying out thin-film evaporation on the phosphate after washing to obtain the phosphate flame retardant. Compared with the prior art, the posttreatment apparatus for phosphate flame retardant provided by the invention first carries out mixing on the alkali and crude phosphate, and then conducts by cycling alkali washing and cycling water washing, so as to greatly enhance mass transfer effect on the process. The invention not only shortens the response time and reduces phosphate hydrolysis, but more importantly reduces the amount of generated wastewater.
