Optimum Channel Selection of Dual Radar for Respiration Detection - A Time Domain Approach
2019
Doppler radars can detect respiration rate of a human being without compromising the safety and privacy of the person. The small angle approximation techniques of phase demodulation of continuous wave (CW) Doppler radar for detecting very minute respiratory-chest wall movements suffer from inherent optimum-null point problem. This in turn hinders accurate respiration rate (BR) computations. In this work, we present a novel time domain approach of extracting BR from a dual CW radar (10.525 GHz) setup, by automated selection of optimum channel. The proposed system efficiently computes BR with an mean accuracy of 98.53 ± 0.9%.
