Application of miniature micromachined Fabry-Perot interferometer to optical fibre WDM system

A tunable micromachined Fabry-Perot interferometer is described. The device has been used successfully as a narrowband filter, providing isolation between two channels operating in the 1.3µm optical fibre transmission window, the first system application of a silicon Fabry-Perot filter.
