Umgang mit menschlichen Faktoren beim Betrieb deutscher Kernkraftwerke

A tool (operating system) specifically designed to suit requirements and which permits weak points in the man-machine interface to be identified and eliminated has been available to German nuclear power station operators since 1994. The object of this system is to ensure, through permanent controls or improvements in the man-machine interface, as fault-free as possible operation, monitoring and maintenance of the plant. This paper illustrates how the detection of faulty human behaviours analyses of causes and also appropriate remedies can be achieved and documented systematically and formally. The paper reports on the results available to date of a pilot project.
