By examining the last five works of Carrere in the light of the energetics theory of genres, according to which a text can be classified as either novelistic or epic in terms of the interaction of three factors: the rhetorical, noetic and praxeonomic, this article will demonstrate that the works under study fit the pattern of an epic that focusses on love.
