Hybrid Composite Biomaterials

2019
Abstract Every day, numerous surgical procedures are performed worldwide to repair or replace tissues damaged by disease or trauma. Tissue engineering aims to develop neotissue by combining appropriate cells with a three-dimensional scaffold template, which eliminated the need for lifelong anticoagulation medication and prevents durability and reoperation issues. This article describes various hybrid materials used to develop state-of-the-art, three-dimensional scaffolds in bone tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
