Influence of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhiza on Hemodynamics of Cirrhotic Portal Hypertension and Hemorrheology

Objective To observe the effect of radix salviae miltiorrhizon on hemodynamics of cirrhotic portal hypertension and hemorrheolagy.Methods 84 cases of hepatocirrhotic patients chosen and randomly divided into control group(group A) and radix salviae miltiorrhiza group(group B). After being treated for the lst, 2nd and 3rd month,to observe the changes of the diameter of the portal vein and spleen vein, the speed of portal vein and spleen vein, the flow of the portal vein and spleen vein. At the same time to observe the change of the hemorrheology.Results The diameter of the portal vein and spleen vein, the flow of the portal vein and spleen vein in group B were significantly decreased respectively(P0.05～0.01), the speed of the portal vein and spleen vein was greatly improved(P0.01), the hemorrheology was greatly improved (P0.05～0.01). Conclusions Radix salviae miltiorrhiza is effective in improving the hemodynamics of portal hypertension, one of its mechanism is perhaps associated with the improvment of hemorrheology.
