Reproductive disease occurrence in Valdostana cows

Several factors may have a role in the occurrence of reproductive disorders. Selection mainly based on milk production may lead to increasing occurrence of diseases (Ouweltjes et al., 1996). In Finnish Ayrshires Rajala and Grohn (1998) found that higher milk production may be a risk factor for several reproductive disorders. Furthermore, parity and calving season have an effect on reproductive disorders (Grohn et al., 1994). Our objective was to test factors influencing the occurrence of reproductive disorders in Valdostana cows.........
