The invention provides a method for monitoring health. The method comprises: sending measuring light to body surface skin of a monitored object according to preset frequency in a monitoring period, and receiving reflected light of the measuring light; processing the reflected light to obtain blood pressure value of the monitored object; according to the blood pressure value, calculating a blood pressure average value and a blood pressure standard deviation value of the monitored object in the monitoring period; determining activity states of the monitored object in the monitoring period; and according to the activity states, the blood pressure average value and the blood pressure standard deviation value, determining health conditions of the monitored object in the monitoring period. Correspondingly, the invention also provides a device for monitoring health. The method and the device can accurately monitor health.
