Hydrogen purification with metal hydrides in a new kind of reactor

1987
Abstract A process for hydrogen purification and a new kind of reactor for metal hydrides have been developed. Nitrogen is removed from the inlet gas stream and hydrogen of very high purity is produced. A steel reactor is used because of the high reaction temperatures and the need for gas of high purity. The reactor was constructed in such a way as to allow swelling by elastic deformation of the walls.
