Clinical application of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatogrophy and endoscopic sphincterotomy before or after laparoscopic cholecystectomy

2012
Objective To summarize the diagnostic and therapeutic efficacy on healing choledocholithiasis by using endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatogrophy(ERCP) and endoscopic sphincterotomy(EST) before or after laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC).Methods ERCP and EST were applied in 68 patients suspected of cholelithiasis concurrent with choledocholithiasis before or after LC.Results ERCP disclosed choledocholithiasis in 42 patients before LC,and then stones were completely removed by EST in 39 patients, with a clearance rate of 92.9%(39/42).ERCP revealed resident cholelith in 7 patients after LC,and all of them were cured by EST with a clearance rate of 100%(7/7).Conclusion ERCP and EST is accurate, safe and effective to diagnosis and treatment for common duct stones before or after LC. And the micro-wound method possesses repetitive operation to the recidivation of the common duct stones in advanced stage.
