Case Report and Literature Review of Idiopathic Intussusception in an Adult

Intussusception is a rare cause of intestinal obstruction in adults. Only about 3 cases per million people are reported in the literature each year. It is an uncommon condition that is more prevalent in children. In adults, it is most often as sociated with neoplasms, postoperative scars, Meckel's diverticulum, foreign bodies or celiac disease, but 20% of these cases have idiopathic causes. We present a case and review of the literature.
