Mensuração da contribuição do setor privado para a cobertura arbórea no município de Piracicaba.

The maintenance of urban vegetation is extremely important as sustaining the population's quality of life. Regarding the main studies on urban vegetation are usually addressed urban parks, sites usually neglected in these studies are green areas within private land, such as urban backyards. These have a great ecological importance. The objective of this study is to quantify the tree cover area that lies within private areas within the city limits of the city of Piracicaba, using Satellite image WorldView-2 and software to obtain the results. In this study, it was used WorldView-2 images of the 2011 urban in the city of Piracicaba. With this image was made the supervised classification in MultiSpec 3.4 software in 12 classes, measuring the tree cover of the city. After classification and visual analysis of the image a buffers was created in Quantum GIS 2.8.1 software, of 10 meters for streets and 12 meters for avenues, to exclude trees in public roads. After this in ArcGIS 10.2.2 all the trees in the roads were removed with the tool clip, between the class tree canopy and the streets buffers. Also in this software were cut all area with tree cover in public roads, only counting the trees on private. An area of 5338.15 hectares of the total tree cover found in the urban area of Piracicaba in 2011, on witch 1083.4 hectares of tree cover was in private areas representing 20.3%.
