Biology of Pyelonephritis

1961
This volume contains the papers presented at an international meeting of recognized authorities in the field of renal disease; it represents the most noteworthy attempt in some 4 decades to synthesize existing knowledge of renal infection, long neglected by medical investigators. Having attended the 3-day session, I found the proceedings of great personal value, highly informative and stimulating. A wide variety of subjects is covered in the seven sections, each of which consists of five to eight papers (chapters) relating to studies not only of the structure and function of the kidney and its alterations by disease but also the origin, development and distribution of pyelonephritis, as well as its pathology and treatment.
