Effect of Heat Treatment on Microstructure,Hardness and Toughness of Wear-corrosion Resistance High Cr Alloy Steel

2012
The effects of heat treatment process on the microstructure, hardness and toughness of wear-corrosion resistance high chromium alloy steel were studied by metallographic microscope,XRD,SEM,hardness tester and impact tester. The results indicate that the microstructure of medium carbon high chromium alloy cast steel which was oil quenched at 1050 ℃ and tempered at 250 ℃ is basically single-phase,lath martensite, while a different microstructure is mixed martensite after oil quenching at 950 ℃ and tempering at 250 ℃.The medium carbon high chromium alloy cast steel whose absorption impact energy of V-notch specimen was high(11.2 J),hardness reached 54.9 HRC,has a well matched hardness and toughness properties after oil quenching at 1050 ℃ and tempering at 250 ℃.
