Fiber-Optic Hydrophone Arrays: Radial Temperature Compensation Package for Bragg Gratings.

Abstract : A new method of packaging fiber Bragg gratings to stabilize their wavelength over temperature variations has been demonstrated. This method uses a ceramic with a negative coefficient of thermal expansion to offset the fiber thermo-optic effect. A unique radial package compatible with fiber-optic hydrophones was demonstrated.
