Novel processes combining natural products and synthetic materials for developing nanolarvicides

Abstract The use of nanolarvicide has been proposed to control the neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), reducing the environmental impact of active ingredients, and improving the treatment effectiveness. The proposal of eco-friendly nanoproducts, including alternative processes using natural products, has been considered promising. In addition, the use of natural products as larvicide has shown interesting results, making them useful to produce nanoecolarvicides. This approach is a sustainable trend to control the main vectors. The nanolarvicide formulations include metallic particles, especially those produced by green synthesis, polymeric nanoparticles, and nanoemulsions, responsible for improving the effectiveness of larvicides in aquatic environments.
