A device for authenticity testing of a security document (4), the at least one at an excitation frequency in a high-voltage alternating field (5) electroluminescent security feature (3), with a sensor unit (1), an excitation module (2), a condenser (9) and comprising a detector unit (12), wherein the security document (4) by the sensor unit (1) is moved and the luminescent light (11) collected from the condenser (9) and to the detector unit (12) is directed, the the luminescence (11) detects and spectrally analyzes, characterized in that - that the excitation module (2) has a slit-shaped opening (21) defining a path of movement (10) of the security document to be examined (4) engages with its opposite boundary surfaces, - that the excitation module (2) is formed of a transparent insulating material, in which the electrodes (E1, E2) are embedded to generate the high voltage alternating field (5) - that the security document to be examined (4) facing boundary surfaces of the opening (21) in the excitation module (2) have a hard layer of a transparent ceramic material (8) and that the excitation module (2) has at least a pair of electrodes (E1, E2), wherein the electrodes (E1, E2) are spaced apart from the pair while forming a gap (7) from one another, such that the light passing through the gap luminescence light (11) by is directed collected the condenser (9) and to the detector unit (12), wherein the electrodes (E1, E2), the condenser (9) and the detector unit (12) on one or both sides of the opening (21) are present.
