A Survey on the Freshmen’s Knowledge about AIDS

Objective The report is based on a survey made among university students with the aim to learn their understandings of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and their attitudes towards the disease, and explore ways of doing hygienic education among the students. Method The questionaire survey is conducted among 1800 freshmen in a university.Results The survey finds that university students are well aware of some basic knowledge of AIDS, but their knowledge of how to protect AIDS is limited, even with many misunderstandings. They have much fear to AIDS, and obvious mental discrimation to AIDS patients.Conclusion There is much necessity to create more efficient ways to further educate the university students with the knowledge of AIDS in order to increase the students’awareness of how to prevent AIDS.
