Influence of Mothers Age in Perinatal Results in Pregnant Women at René Avila Reyes Polyclinic

A study on maternal age behavior was performed at Rene Avila Reyes University Polyclinic, Holguin municipality, 2009. The sample comprised 287 pregnant women with a gestational age of 28 or more weeks. The age group between 21 and 34 year was the one of highest prevalence. The predominant term delivery in pregnant women was between 21 and 34 years and older. The preterm adolescents had the highest frequency. It showed an association between advanced maternal age and the presence of congenital defects. The risk of dystocia increased in advanded ages.
