Osteoartritis de columna vertebral. Una afección frecuente pero olvidada

Introduction: The spine osteoarthritis in spite of being a frequent reason of consultation on the part of the population has been relegated to a second plane from the point of view of scientific investigations. To know the demographics characteristic with which they are presented in our means it would be of great utility in the diagnostic orientation and the patients' therapy that you/they suffer it. Objective: To determine the demographic characteristic partner of the patients with spine osteoarthritis in the rheumatologic center. Methodology: I study descriptive. For the positive diagnosis they were kept in mind the useful elements for the diagnosis according to the Rheumatology American School. The demographic variable partner obtained through a survey that contained so much clinical elements as radiological were described useful to confirm the diagnosis of the illness. Results: The average of 68,14 year-old age, highlighting the group of ages between 60 and 69 years. The feminine sex prevailed with 234 patients of which 32.36 % presented a comorbidity d and/or habit noxious associate at least, the affected segment in a general way and in the feminine sex it was the cervical region and in the masculine one the lumbar region. The time of more frequent evolution was the one understood between 5 and 10 years. Conclusions: The demographics characteristic coincides with those that it reports the literature. As it increases the time of evolution it becomes more evident the symptoms  related with affectation of the lumbar segments and numbers.
