GENERATING THE SQUEEZING EFFECT BY A NONLOCAL POTENTIAL

Abstract We examine the possibility of generating the squeezing effect in a quantum harmonic oscillator by a nonlocal potential, via both perturbation calculations and exact (numerical) solutions. We find that a nonlocal potential can generate the squeezing effect if its strength is not too large.
