As Close as Body and Shadow and Remarkably True to Life —— On the Style of Translated Poetry

Poetic creation and translation must follow the dialectical relationship between the content and the form of poetry. Grasping the similarities and differences between Chinese poetry and western poetry will help to reproduce the style of the original works. The style of translated poetry is conditioned by four elements, including:(1) the style of the original;(2) the style of the translator; (3) the features of the target language;(4) the times of translation.
