The classification of the trivectors of a six-dimensional symplectic space: Summary, consequences and connections

Abstract The large project of classifying all Sp ( V , f ) -equivalence classes of trivectors of a six-dimensional symplectic space ( V , f ) over an arbitrary field has recently been finished by the authors. In the present paper, we give a summary of this classification, derive several consequences of it and indicate how this classification relates to the other known results from the literature.
