Experimental study on the femoral head necrosis treated by therapy of western medicine combined with traditional Chinese medicine

Objective To study the mechanism of western medicine combined with TCM for treatment of the femoral head necrosis induced by cortisone Methods 40 rabbits were divided into control,model Chinese herb group,intervention group and combined group.The hemorrheology,serum lipid and the number of empty lacuna in the femoral head were observed on the rabbits treated in 8 weeks.Results The level of plasma viscosity,blood viscosity,RBC aggregation index,total cholesterol,trilyceride and the number of the empty lacuna in the herb and intervention group were lower than those in the model group (P0 05).The level of blood viscosity,RBC aggregation index and trilyceride in combined group were lower than those in the model group (P0 01) and also different in the herb and intervention group (P0 05).The level of plasma viscosity,blood viscosity,RBC aggregation index and total cholesterol were lower (P0 05) and the number of femoral head empty lacuna was also lower than that of model (P0 01).Conclusion Herb,intervention or combined therapy can reduce serum lipid,improve blood circulation,make the active ostogenesis taking place and repair the femoral head avascular necrosis.The therapeutic effect of combined group was better than that of herb or intervention group.
