Reading Out Loud: Process and Collaboration

This performative reading explores our affection for and accounts of material used in Poetry of Unknown Words, a feminising response to Iliazd’s Poesie de mots inconnus (1949). We have worked in collaboration since 1987, often in combination with other artists and writers, deliberately disrupting the single authorial voice and destabilising borders of subjectivity. This talk is formed from process notes, a serendipitous approach outlining our day to day use of archives and engagements with printed material.
