Site-directed mutagenesis and NMR spectroscopic approaches to the elucidation of the structure-function relationships in translation initiation factors IF1 and IF3

Abstract The recent developments in the knowledge of the structure and structure-function relationships of prokaryotic initiation factors IF1 and IF3 obtained in our laboratory by site-directed mutagenesis, biochemical and NMR-spectroscopic approaches are discussed.
